Chocolate Anyone?

The chocolates are inside those big machines cooling, we could not see anything!
Haley, Mikayla & Haley Peterson (Allison & Brayden did not want to get in the picture!)
Today we went to Ethel M's Chocolate Factory with our friends Haley and Allison. I have to say that aside from the free chocolate we got it was a dud, actually I had two, I ate the one they gave me for Brayden (he's too young for chocolate, right)!! All the chocolates were cooling, so nothing was running on the conveyor belt their was nothing exciting to watch! They did have a really neat cactus garden but it was way too hot to enjoy it, at 104 degrees we were just looking for the exit! We will be back though, it was told to us that during Christmas the garden is all lit up with hundreds of Christmas lights and Santa visits on the weekends, so we will check that out.

NO COMING IN!

Is Haley growing up or what!! This is her first "NO COMING IN" sign. Since she shares a room with Mikayla and we have an open door policy in our home she is not able to put it on her door, so she decided to put it on the top of her bunk bed and she said no one is allowed up there! I was on the computer when this all went down, she came and asked me for something to write with and then went into her bedroom, when she decided she needed my help in spelling out the words she came and told me what she wanted to do and asked for my help. Too cute, Haley! Although, I'm not sure I'm ready for this new stage you are beginning!

All About Brayden

Brayden had his 15 month well check today. I was so happy that I could finally report to the doctor that yes, he is in fact walking! Brayden cooperated and walked for the doctor too, which is impressive in and of itself because he still chooses to crawl allot and to perform on cue is not usually Brayden's style. Here are his 15 month numbers:
Height 31.5 inches 50-75%
Weight 24.2 lbs 25-50%
Head 48 cm 50-75%

He had to have one shot, which he did not cry over, he whined a little but no tears. What a tough guy! So when the visit was all over he was able to pick out his very own and very first sucker. He sucked on that thing till the stick was coming apart!

After the Doctors Aunt Tammy and I took all the kids to the pool. Here are pictures of Brayden's adventures in the water. He loves being in the water and playing by himself. I don't know if Brett is going to be too thrilled to find out he was playing with a barbie!!

Here are some fun things to know about Brayden

  • He loves bread, juice, ice cream, bananas, yogurt, he will eat most of what I give him.
  • He is not to fond of tomato sauce, peanut butter, or milk although he will drink a little.
  • He loves music and will shake his whole body to the beat especially his head.
  • He is not a big fan of TV or watching movies he would much rather be playing with toys.
  • He loves going up and down the stairs and has been doing this for a long while now.
  • He does not like to be alone, he will play by himself as long as someone else is close by.
  • He likes toys with wheels, cars, shopping carts, big pushing stuff like his dump truck and "beep beep" and toys that make noise.
  • He does not like to be smothered by his two big sisters who sometimes can not help it!
  • He loves to cuddle with mommy and daddy and sing the Barney "I Love You" song. He knows when to give the hug and the kiss!
  • One more thing he loves is telephones and remote controlls, he will play with his toy cell phone for hours or just carry it around!
  • Some new words he is saying; stinky, Kayla, no, stop, and bite

When I change his diaper he says "inky, inky" translation stinky, stinky

When he wants to eat, especially if someone is eating in front of him he shouts out "BITE"

He will point to the table and then shake his head no to everything you hold up until it is what he wants.

When the girls are smothering him, playing of course, and he has had all he can take he will shout out "SOP!" which means stop.

I love all the adventures I have with him. I am having so much fun watching him grow, I love him, he is my baby boy! He is a very happy, easy and mild manner baby, we will see what toddler hood will bring!

Lets Jam!

Sydney and Cara came over yesterday to play and I got these two pictures of everyone including Brayden dancing and singing like rock stars! It was so funny to watch Brayden try and keep up with the girls. Now that he is walking he wants to do everything they do. Here is Haley and Sydney posing for the camera. They really got into it and they love the guitar, watch out Grandpa one day they might just give you a run for your money! Haley is already asking to bring her guitar to Grandpa's so she can play with him!

I know this picture is not that great, very blurry, but you can see Brayden dancing his little heart out, or his legs, which will probably collapse first given he just started using them!! This boy loves music. It does not matter where we are when he hears a good beat he starts shaking his head to it, it really is hilarious!

A visit with Friends

The Vasquez Family (Carlos, Kristen, Carson and Sydney) came to visit this past weekend. We had allot of fun with them. They stayed at Mandalay Bay, which I had never been to, so it was fun to go down to the "Strip". After a quick thunder and lightning storm with huge "drip drops" we went swimming at the Hotel, and boy was that a treat, the pools were awesome. Haley was bummed because she was just about an inch short of going into the wave pool, you had to be 48" tall. So she had to stay with us in what she called the "baby pool"! Sorry Haley next year will be your year to shine or should I say ride the waves! I realized after they left I did not get any really good pics, and I never remember to take pics of the adults, (me and my friends) I need to remember that!

I love this picture of Haley. We went on the tram that takes you from one Hotel to another and I was able to get this really cool action shot of her!

Here is a picture of Mikayla and Sydney on that same tram. My girls loved the tram, that was definitely a highlight for them. Aside from a few thunder storms everything was great, the kids loved swimming and playing together. We loved having them visit and can not wait to see them again.

What A Job!!

Brett's latest job, the Hannah Montana movie! Yes, that is my hard working husband in the right side of the picture. He is sitting with his camera crane, however you can not see the crane in this shot. His crane was filming the scenes from this picture. What a job!!

5 Wishes From a 5 Year Old

This morning at breakfast Haley started talking about wishes and what her wishes were. It was fun talking to her and we laughed and joked about having a genie grant our wishes. I decided to get my pencil and paper out and I asked her if she were given 5 wishes what would they be and here they are:

  1. "I wish my purple baby doll is real" (we have a real baby, his name is Brayden!)
  2. "I wish I could be Giselle in Enchanted" (that is the princess in the movie Enchanted)
  3. "I wish I had a disco ball that was silver" (where is she coming up with these things?)
  4. "I wish I had a sparkly room" (oops, I guess my decorating is not good enough)
  5. "I wish I could go in a plane" (One of her favorite things to do is go watch the planes take off and land at the airport)

Our Fashionistas!

Today was a cute day for the girls and I. Having swimming lessons every morning wipes out our mornings now, so we have to run our errands after nap time. I decided to let the girls get themselves ready to go, so during nap time (quiet time for the girls) they decided to fix themselves all up! Purses and all they came downstairs ready to go! I was actually pretty impressed with how well they matched their individual outfits, you go girls!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
Today we celebrate our great country's birthday. I am thankful for all the freedom we have and take for granted. I am thankful for all the men and women who have fought and are fighting now in order to preserve freedom. Their is no where else I would rather live, I am thankful to be an American!
It is too hot here right now to do anything but stay indoors, so for our daytime forth of July activity Brett and I took Haley to see Kung Fu Panda. Mikayla did not want to go, she heard their was a mean tiger in the movie, and she was right. It was even a little much for Haley who shrinked in her seat every time the fight scenes were on. Haley said she thought the movie was ok but did not like the "mean" parts! It was a cute movie, but Haley is our sensitive one and I don't think this will be one of her favorites!

After the movie we went to memas and pop pops for dinner and entertainment. We put on our own fireworks and sparklers show, the girls loved this part. Mikayla was much more into the sparklers then Haley! When it got dark we drove to the top of the hill to watch all the firework shows throughout the city, it was nice. I loved watching all the fireworks but now I am tired and ready for bed, good night!

Swimming Anyone??

Swimming lessons officially started yesterday. Mikayla and Haley are doing a great job with learning the strokes better. Haley is in level three now, I am so proud of her. She now gets to learn how to breath while she swims!! The technique they use is a saying "talk to the fishies, listen to the fishies" so Haley has been walking around all day singing that little phrase. Also she has earned her goggles, she had to make it to level 3 to receive her goggles she has wanted. Mikayla is doing great as always, she is my little fish with absolutely no fear whatsoever! I think her favorite part is playing all the water games they play. Brayden is also taking lessons, it is his first swim lessons and he loves it. He does not like getting in the water and it takes him forever to warm up to the water but once he is he loves it. He is already learning to float on his back and front and kick and blow bubbles in the water! He is so fun to be with he is so easy going, I love him!
